Statistics on issued construction permits in Georgia for the period of January to September 2023

"According to officially announced data, from January to September 2023, 8169 construction permits were issued in Georgia, marking a 1.1 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. These permits were granted for the construction of buildings totaling 6,363.1 thousand square meters, reflecting an 18 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Of these permits, 73.5 percent are designated for construction projects in four regions of the country: 48.6 percent in Tbilisi; 9.4 percent in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region; 8.9 percent in Kvemo Kartli; and 6.6 percent in the Imereti region.

Notably, from January to September 2023, multifunctional permits were issued for residential complexes, commercial properties, hotels, industrial facilities, agricultural structures, and other buildings.

During this period, 2,153.4 thousand square meters of space were brought into operation, marking an 11.3 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This encompassed a total of 2,235 projects, representing a 21.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

More than half of the completed projects are concentrated in four regions of the country:
32.4 percent in Tbilisi, 13.4 percent in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 12.0 percent in the Kakheti region, and 8.7 percent in the Imereti region."
